Chocolate Arequipe

Colombian Origin

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Juana corn meal  
  • 3 cups of milk  
  • 2 cups of water  
  • 4 ounces of dark chocolate, finely chopped  
  • 4 ounces of milk chocolate chips  
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder  
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract  
  • 2 tablespoons of dulce de leche or to your taste  
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon 

Preparation

  1. Combine Juana corn meal and water and put it into a pot for it to boil.  
  2. Add milk, dark chocolate, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, salt and cinnamon.  
  3. Mix until well combined the remove from heat  
  4. Blend in blender until well combined and smooth.  
  5. Return to pot for it to heat through.  
  6. Serve with dulce de leche.
